The processed hole position is accurate, with high straightness and coaxiality, high surface finish and small deviation. It can process all kinds of deep holes conveniently. In practical application, the technology of drilling before reaming can be replaced by one-time processing, and it has strong process reliability.

Gun drill can drill cast iron, carbon steel, copper, aluminum alloy, alloy steel, etc. it can finish drilling, boring and reaming once, and can process high precision (it8-11 grade), precision straightness (0.16-0.5mm / 1000mm) and low roughness (ra6.3-ra0.8) holes once cutting. The drilling line speed is over 30-100m / min.

Gun drill is mainly used to drill the hole diameter, with the range greater than 1.5mm-38mm. The length diameter ratio of drilling refers to: drill diameter x 150 times. (that is, the maximum drilling depth), the high-pressure coolant reaches the cutting position through the spindle and the center of the drill bit. The scrap iron is discharged through the V-groove on the drill.

1. In use, the guide sleeve with suitable size must be selected first, and the gap between the guide sleeve and the head of the gun drill shall be kept within 0.003mm-0.008mm. The spindle of the machine tool using the gun drill must have higher axial and radial rigidity, and the guide sleeve and the spindle must have higher coaxiality. In the process of drilling, the drilling position of the processed material (especially the casting) shall be free of fracture, air hole and other impurities, otherwise, it will cause edge collapse or even turn around. The cutting parameters should be selected correctly. Generally, cutting speed: v = 1.1-1.65m/s, feed rate: S = 0.015-0.03mm/r, oil pressure: P = 2.5-6.0mpa, flow rate: q = 0.2-0.65l/s.


2. The cutting fluid used in gun drill is also very important, which directly affects the accuracy of the hole being processed. Be sure to select special gun drilling oil. Generally, cutting fluid for gun drilling should have extreme pressure additives to ensure the formation of oil film under high pressure and prevent dry grinding. The viscosity of cutting fluid is related to the drilling diameter. The smaller the diameter is, the lower the viscosity is. Compared with general machining, the cutting oil sent to gun drill cutting area has the characteristics of large pressure, large flow rate and high filtering accuracy. The flow rate should be increased with the increase of the hole depth, so as to ensure a larger flow rate of cutting oil and achieve the purpose of smooth chip removal.


3. After the drill bit of gun drill is worn, it needs to be timely and correctly sharpened. When sharpening, the gun drill must be mounted on a special fixture on a universal tool grinder or a special tool grinder for sharpening. Resin diamond wheel with a particle size of about 120 can be used for sharpening. Each sharpening only needs to grind the back edge of the internal and external corners. The correct geometric angle (drawing provided by our company) and cutting edge position must be ensured.
