Machine Overview Drilling Method: Gun Drilling (External Chip Removal) Gun drilling principle: Internal oil supply and external chip evacuation. Cutting fluid flows through the rotary joint at the rear end of the spindle of the drill box, the inner bore of the drill box spindle and the inner hole of the tool bar to the cutting edge. Carrying chips, the cutting fluid flows through the V-shaped grooves on the outer surface of the tool bar into the guide bracket, and then enters the chip conveyor.

1.Machine Overview

1.1 Drilling Method: Gun Drilling (External Chip Removal)

Gun drilling principle: Internal oil supply and external chip evacuation. Cutting fluid flows through the rotary joint at the rear end of the spindle of the drill box, the inner bore of the drill box spindle and the inner hole of the tool bar to the cutting edge. Carrying chips, the cutting fluid flows through the V-shaped grooves on the outer surface of the tool bar into the guide bracket, and then enters the chip conveyor.

1.2 Gun Drilling Range: φ3–φ40mm

1.3 Maximum Drilling Depth: 1000mm

1.4 CNC System Model: SIEMENS-808D Main control functions: tool rotation, tool feed, workpiece rotation, cooling system, lubrication system and hydraulic station. The machine can complete automatic machining according to the program simply by pressing the start button.

1.5 X-axis

Controlled by the CNC system for horizontal workpiece movement with a travel of 1000mm; equipped with linear ball guideways. Driven by a servo motor via a servo reducer and ball screw assembly. The guideway surface is protected by retractable stainless steel covers. The ball screw nut adopts a double-nut structure, which is lubricated at fixed time and quantity by the automatic lubrication station. Special bearings for ball screws are installed at both ends, adopting a fixed-tension bearing layout (one end fixed, the other end pre-tensioned).

1.6 Y-axis

Controlled by the CNC system for vertical tool movement with a travel of 1000mm; fitted with linear ball guideways. It is driven by a servo motor through a servo reducer and ball screw assembly, equipped with counterweight blocks for balance.

The ball screw nut adopts a double-nut structure, which is lubricated regularly with fixed oil volume by the automatic lubrication station. Special ball screw bearings are mounted at both ends, adopting a bearing configuration with one end fixed and the other end pre-tensioned.

1.7 Z-axis

Controlled by the CNC system for longitudinal tool feed to achieve a maximum drilling depth of 1000mm. It is equipped with linear ball guideways and driven by a servo motor via a servo reducer and ball screw assembly.

The ball screw nut adopts a double-nut structure, which receives timed and quantitative lubrication from the automatic lubrication station. Special ball screw bearings are installed at both ends, featuring a bearing arrangement with one end fixed and the other end pre-tensioned.

1.8 T-slot Worktable: Dimensions 1500mm×1000mm, T-slot width 22mm, movable on the X-axis bed.

1.9 Drill Box (Spindle Head): Used to control tool rotation. The main servo motor drives the spindle from the front after speed reduction, facilitating tool replacement and protecting the main motor. The spindle output speed is steplessly adjustable. Main motor power: 15kW; maximum spindle output speed: 5000r/min.

1.10 Drill Rod Support It is used to support the tool bar. The support sleeves mounted on the drill rod support and the right end of the guide frame support the tool bar to improve its rigidity.

1.11 Guide Frame It functions for tool guiding, chip removal and tool bar support. Controlled by the pneumatic system, the guide frame automatically clamps and releases workpieces.

1.12 Cooling System Components: chip conveyor, circulation pump, paper tape filter, oil chiller, pump unit, liquid level sensor, flow sensor, pressure sensor and temperature sensor, oil tank. The oil tank is installed on the ground and fully welded with high-quality steel plates. Multiple sensors are equipped on the cooling system, and readings of liquid level, oil temperature, flow rate and pressure are displayed on meters. Pump unit: one set of variable frequency pumps. The pump output flow is adjusted by changing the motor speed, and a manual overflow valve is fitted at the pump outlet to regulate output pressure. Chip conveyor: removes metal chips and drains cutting fluid into the dirty oil tank. Circulation pump: delivers cutting fluid from the dirty oil tank to the filter. Paper tape filter: removes impurities from the cutting fluid conveyed from the dirty oil tank, with automatic paper feeding function. Oil chiller: cools down cutting fluid and starts/stops automatically according to the upper and lower limits of preset oil temperature.

1.13 Safety Enclosure Full enclosure is standard for the main machine, with full consideration given to convenient workpiece loading, unloading and machine operation.

1.14 Basic parts such as machine bed, worktable, boxes and columns are cast from high-quality cast iron and undergo aging treatment to release internal stress.

1.15 Pneumatic System It controls the axial movement of the guide frame to clamp or unclamp workpieces.
